Anakapalli: A shocking incident unfolded at the Narsipatnam Municipal Council meeting in Anakapalli district, where a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) councillor slapped himself with a slipper. Expressing his frustration, Moolaparthi Ramaraju, the councillor of the 20th ward, lamented his inability to address the issues faced by the people in Lingapuram, particularly the problem of approach roads. During the council meeting chaired by Chairperson Bodapati Subbalakshmi, Ramaraju picked up his sandals and slapped himself on the cheeks in front of the entire assembly. He expressed his distress over the lack of resolution for the approach road problem, despite repeatedly bringing it to the attention of the council's chairperson and commissioner. Ramaraju further revealed that MLA Petla Umashankar Ganesh had promised to address the approach road issue in December 2022, but the promise remained unfulfilled. He expressed deep regret that despite serving as a councillor for 30 months, he was unable to accomplish any development work within his jurisdiction.
