Gujarat: India has achieved a monumental feat, surpassing the US with the world's largest office building, housing its mammoth diamond industry in Gujarat's record-breaking structure in Surat. Covering over 35 acres, the newly-opened Surat Diamond Bourse boasts a 15-storey complex with a staggering 7.1 million square feet of floor space, outpacing the US Pentagon. This "one-stop destination" accommodates 65,000 diamond professionals, offering traders, cutters, and polishers a state-of-the-art facility. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the architecture, reflecting Surat's diamond industry's growth. The grand building, a ₹32 billion project by Morphogenesis, will reduce Mumbai travel for business and houses numerous amenities, linking 4,700 offices through marble-floored atriums for seamless access.
