Padma Janardhan Reddy, the CMD (Chairman and Managing Director) of A.P.C.P.D.C.L, has announced that electricity prepaid meters will soon be implemented for residential purposes. He mentioned that the surveying process is currently underway and prepaid meters will be made available by December 23. This new system aims to streamline meter reading and billing, simplifying the entire process. In a recent review meeting held at the Guntur Vidyut S.E. office, officials discussed the ongoing replacement of aged electric poles and wires. Reddy revealed that poles and electric wires, which have been in use for over 30 and 40 years respectively, are being replaced in a phased manner. Furthermore, the CMD highlighted the benefits that consumers will receive through various plans, including the introduction of the "happy days scheme." These initiatives are expected to enhance the overall electricity consumption experience for households.
