Japan's space agency experienced a setback as a rocket engine exploded during a test, officials confirmed. The incident occurred just one minute into the ground test of the second-stage engine. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. The Noshiro Testing Center in Akita Prefecture was developing the Epsilon S rocket to enhance Japan's competitiveness in the satellite launch market. The Epsilon series had previously seen successful launches, but an Epsilon-6 rocket deviated from its intended trajectory and had to be self-destructed. The failed test has led to the postponement of the Epsilon S launch. Investigations into the cause are ongoing.
