Passengers aboard the Chennai-Bengaluru double-decker superfast train were alarmed on Thursday morning when they observed smoke emanating from the wheels. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, as confirmed by the police. The incident occurred as the train, which had departed from the Dr MGR Central Chennai Railway Station, was nearing the Gudiyattam railway station in Vellore. Alert passengers quickly noticed the smoke billowing from the wheels, prompting the train to be brought to a halt. According to officials from the Southern Railway, a few passengers specifically noticed smoke emerging from beneath the wheels of Coach six (C-6) of the train.
