Prakasam: In a tragic road accident near Darshi in Prakasam district, seven people, including a seven-year-old child, were killed, and more than 15 were severely injured on Monday after midnight. The accident occurred when a bus carrying a wedding party lost control and fell into the Sagar Canal. The bus was transporting over 40 passengers from Podili to Kakinada for post-wedding ceremonies when the unfortunate incident took place. Among the deceased were Abdul Aziz (65), Abdul Hani (60), Sheikh Rameez (48), Mulla Noorjahan (58), Mulla Janee Begum (65), Sheikh Shabina (35), and the young Sheikh Heena (6). The child's body was tragically found trapped under the bus. Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding may have been the cause of the accident. According to reports, the bus missed a turn near the canal, collided with the sidewall, lost control, and plunged into the canal.
