Hyderabad: In a heroic act, an Army jawan came to the rescue of a woman who accidentally fell into the Bhakra canal near Patiala, Punjab. Eyewitnesses reported that the canal's water level was high at the time of the incident. The tourist lost her footing and fell into the canal, prompting the locals to raise an alarm. Responding swiftly, Army jawan DN Krishnan jumped into the canal in an attempt to save the drowning woman. However, due to the strong water current, he faced difficulties in reaching her. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the locals threw ropes to assist in the rescue operation. With their collective effort, the jawan successfully brought the woman safely to the shore. A video capturing the rescue scene was shared on social media, drawing praise and admiration from viewers for the jawan's bravery. Local residents and the police have also commended the jawan's courageous act.
