Vijayawada: In an effort to promote the prosperity and well-being of the people, the Andhra Pradesh Endowment Department, with the desire for the state to flourish as a land of abundant vegetation, commenced the grand Sri Lakshmi Mahayagna, which includes auspicious ceremonies like Ashtottara Shata Kundatmaka Chandi, Rudra, Rajashyamala, Sudarshana, and other rituals. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in the ritual, held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Bandar Road, Vijayawada. The proceedings began at 5 am with morning chants, Veda Swasti, Gopuja, Vigneshwara, and Vishwaksena pujas, followed by Punyahavachanam and other programs. The Chief Minister conducted special rituals at the cow shelter, followed by the Akhanda Deeparadhana (non-stop lighting of lamps). The Maha Yagna will continue for a total of six days until the 17th of this month.
