New Delhi: Former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday under the leadership of JP Nadda in Delhi. Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned from Congress and has been out of politics for some time. Kiran Kumar Reddy served as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh before the bifurcation of AP. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly four times in undivided Andhra Pradesh. Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned from his post opposing the bifurcation bill and continued as the interim Chief Minister for some time. On March 10, 2014, he launched his own political party called ‘Jai Samaikyandhra Party’. However, the party failed to win a single seat in the elections and lost deposits in all contested seats. The party dissolved on July 13, 2018, and Kiran Kumar Reddy rejoined Congress.
