Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the chief of the Telangana state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in leaking the 10th class question paper. According to the Warangal Police Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, reportedly Sanjay had a plan with other accused individuals to leak the paper, and had multiple telephonic conversations and chats with B. Prashanth, who shared the leaked paper on WhatsApp. The police believe that the paper leak happened at Sanjay's instance and hope to retrieve call data to join the dots. Sanjay has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act, which are non-bailable and carry a jail sentence of 3 to 7 years if convicted.
