The recent uproar in the Indian parliament over Rahul Gandhi's controversial remarks in the UK has left the Congress party in a state of political ruin. While India's democracy remains unscathed, the behaviour exhibited by the opposition leader on foreign soil has raised serious concerns among the BJP. Union Minister Smriti Irani has accused Gandhi of not only bashing Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also India as a whole. To remedy this, the BJP demands that the Congress MP apologise to Parliament for his actions. In response, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has come to Gandhi's defence, stating that an apology is out of the question. However, with tensions running high between the two parties, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold.
