Nellore: A major tragedy occurred in Nellore district when six out of ten youths who had gone boating in Chinnacheruvu, a 100-acre pond in Toderu, the native village of Minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy in Podalakuru Mandal, went missing. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM on Sunday when a group of ten youths from Toderu village went for a boating trip. Unfortunately, the boat began to take on water while they were in the middle of the pond, causing the youths to jump into the water. It is said that the pond's maximum depth is estimated to be 20 feet. Surendra (19), Balaji (21), Kalyan (28), Srinath (18), Raghu (24), and Prashant (29) were among the ten people who jumped out of the boat, while Vishnu, Kiran, Mahendra, and Mahesh managed to reach the shore safely. The incident came to light late on Sunday night and police registered a case and investigation is underway.
