In the JAC meeting held in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, YSRCP MLA from Chodavaram Karanam Dharmasri offered his resignation from the MLA post in Speaker format and demanded that Visakhapatnam be designated as the administrative capital. He gave the JAC Convenor, Prof. H. Lajipathi Rai, his letter of resignation. Speaking at the event, he announced his resignation in support of the three capitals, which the Telugu Desam Party opposed (TDP). Dharmasri claimed in the letter that he was resigning from his position as an MLA in order to support the creation of an executive capital in Visakhapatnam. He demanded Andhra Pradesh TDP President Atchannaidu to resign from his position as an MLA in opposition to the decentralisation of capitals and run for election from Tekkali in favour of Amaravati as AP's sole capital.
