The long-awaited announcement of the candidate for the ruling TRS party has heightened the political fervour in the Munugode Assembly Constituency. As the party's nominee for the Munugode by-election, Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, a former TRS legislator, has been named. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been fielding Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy. Palvai Sravanthi is running for Congress in the by-election. The politics at ground zero have become extremely unpleasant as all three of the major political parties Congress, BJP, and TRS have entered the race and are pulling the village and mandal level leaders of other parties into their fold. On the other hand, the nomination process has begun in Munugode. Special Deputy Collector Jagannadha Rao is made the returning officer. A help desk has been created to clear the doubts on nomination process. The officials have also seized Rs 13 lakh from the possession of a driver and began to probe on it.
