The BJP reorganised its structure on Friday as the party ramped up its election preparations, assigning crucial states to skilled veterans, including two former chief ministers, to polish the organisation. Large-scale organisational changes were implemented as part of this. It has made organisational adjustments, such as bolstering its presence in places where the opposition is in power, with the upcoming elections for various legislative assemblies this year in mind. As part of this, in-charges for important states have been chosen, including former CMs, former Union Ministers, and senior leaders with experience in poll administration. In addition to former Union ministers Prakash Javadekar and Mahesh Sharma, the BJP on Friday appointed a number of senior officials as in-charge of party affairs in several states, including former chief ministers Vijay Rupani and Biplab Kumar Deb. Deb will be responsible for Haryana, Rupani for Punjab and Chandigarh, and Javadekar for party activity in Kerala.
