Under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the seventh meeting of the Niti Aayog's governing council is currently underway at the national capital's Rashtrapati Bhawan. The agenda includes crop diversification, achieving self-sufficiency in oilseeds and pulses, agri-communities, and the implementation of the National Education Policy for school education. Prior to this meeting, the Governing Council hadn't convened in person since July 2019. The Council, which oversees NITI Aayog, is made up of all chief ministers, lieutenant governors of union territories, and a number of union ministers. K Chandrashekar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, and Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, are two well-known leaders who will not be attending the summit. KCR claimed that his decision was a protest against what he called the Center's alleged obvious prejudice against states like Telangana in an earlier letter to PM Modi.
