Smriti Irani, a Union minister, demanded an apology from Congressmen Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera on Sunday for their "baseless and misleading" accusations made against the BJP politician and her daughter. A day after the Congress leaders claimed that Irani's 18-year-old daughter Zoish Irani was operating an illegal bar in Goa, Irani took action. Irani will begin civil and criminal actions against them if they do not retract their accusations and offer an absolute, unequivocal apologies, according to the legal notification. The Congress called for Irani's dismissal on Saturday, alleging that her daughter was operating an illegal bar in Goa. The minister, however, said the "malicious" accusation was brought against her at the Gandhi family's request because of her outspoken stance in the National Herald case and vowed to fight it.
