The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the offices of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram in connection with a new case filed by the agency. At the moment, searches are taking place in nine different cities across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. The raids took place in a variety of locations early Tuesday morning. Already, his son, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram, is being investigated by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. Karti Chidambaram is being investigated in diverse cases, including one involving Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) approval for INX Media to receive foreign cash while his father was finance minister.
