Following Tesla CEO Elon Musk's Twitter takeover, Shashi Tharoor, the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology (IT), has a special message for him. Tharoor stated in a tweet that if Twitter is discovered to be interfering with free expression in India or the contrary by allowing hate speech and abuse, the IT committee should take action. Tharoor's words follow Elon Musk's claims about free speech, in which he stated that he wants his fiercest critics remain on Twitter because 'that's what free speech means.' The tweet came after the social media company accepted Musk's $44 billion offer on April 25.
