The Chandrayaan-3 mission from India is about to land on the Moon. It began its journey 40 days ago from the Sathish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. If everything goes as planned, the Vikram lander will gently touch down on the Moon at 6:04 PM on August 23. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) began getting the Vikram lander ready to land at 5:44 PM. Right now, the lander is using its own computers to try to land softly on the Moon. People at the space center will watch it closely, but the lander's own systems will do most of the work. It's now slowing down so it can land safely.
