Maharashtra: In a devastating incident, 15 people lost their lives in the collapse of a girder launcher machine during the construction of the Samrudhi Express Highway Phase 3 in Thane city. The mishap occurred near Sarlambe village in Thane, where the girder launcher machine, crucial in the construction process, suffered a catastrophic collapse. As per reports, the girder launcher machine's crane, holding a slab, plummeted from a height of 100 feet, resulting in the tragic accident. Along with the fatalities, three others were injured in the incident and have been rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Rescue operations are currently underway, with police personnel, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, and firefighters working tirelessly to find survivors and retrieve those trapped under the debris.
