In a recent meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi raised concerns regarding the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) advocated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Owaisi emphasized that the implications of UCC extend beyond the Muslim community, impacting Christians as well, and could potentially undermine the nation's cultural diversity. During the meeting, Owaisi conveyed to CM KCR that the proposed UCC threatened to erode the nation's cultural richness and diversity. He argued that introducing UCC would eliminate the pluralism that forms a vital part of India's identity, highlighting the adverse consequences such a move could have on the country's social fabric. Gratified by the meeting, Owaisi acknowledged that CM KCR had assured him of their opposition to the UCC proposal. The AIMIM chief also mentioned his intention to appeal to Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy of neighboring Andhra Pradesh to join in opposing the UCC.
