In a significant boost to medical education in Telangana, the state is set to establish eight new government medical colleges. These institutions will be located in Jogulamba Gadwal, Narayanpet, Mulugu, Warangal, Medak, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal Malkajgiri districts. An official order sanctioning the new medical colleges has already been issued, bringing the total number of MBBS seats in the state to an impressive 10,000. The establishment of these new colleges means that 25 of the state's 33 districts now have medical colleges, a milestone that underscores the Telangana government's commitment to enhancing access to medical education. State Health Minister Harish Rao had previously announced the ambitious plan of setting up at least one government medical college in every district across the state.
