On June 15, Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall on the Gujarat coast, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake. This significant weather event has been linked to the broader impacts of cyclical storm patterns. New drone footage has emerged, revealing the extent of the damage caused by the cyclone. Mandvi, a town in Gujarat's Kutch district, was particularly hard-hit. Strong winds, generated by the cyclone, have resulted in severe infrastructural damage, including broken electricity poles and hundreds of uprooted trees. Prior to the cyclone's arrival, the region experienced heavy rainfall paired with gusty winds reaching speeds of 115-120 kmph, and occasionally peaking at 150 kmph. These harsh weather conditions have wreaked havoc in the Morbi district. Cyclone Biparjoy's impacts were not only confined to infrastructure. The storm has also resulted in a significant loss of animal life, with reports confirming the deaths of 23 animals in Gujarat so far.
