Maharashtra: In the heart of Parbhani district in Maharashtra, lies the quaint village of Walur, home to a magnificent architectural wonder - a helical stepwell that has recently undergone a remarkable restoration. This stepwell had been long forgotten, but through the joint efforts of the local administration and the villagers, it has been transformed into a sight to behold. The stepwell is an exceptional example of helical stepwell, which follows a spiral curve around a central tube or cone. It consists of spiral steps with eight sides leading to the well shaft and eight Devakoshta or small shrine niches situated above the steps. This historical gem is believed to be between 1000 to 1500 years old. Over time, the stepwell had suffered from neglect and was filled with garbage and debris.
