Hyderabad: National Students' Union of India (NSUI) members in Hyderabad staged a protest on Tuesday in front of the residence of Telangana Education Minister, Sabitha Indra Reddy. The NSUI leaders demanded the immediate shutdown of unauthorized private universities operating in the state. During the protest, NSUI leaders alleged that several private universities admitted students without proper authorization, raising concerns about how these universities will conduct semester exams for the students without required permits. The NSUI has demanded strict action against the owners of these unauthorized private universities. Police intervened and arrested several NSUI members, including state president Balmuri Venkat and other leaders and were taken to Goshamahal Stadium for further questioning.
