Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman's concert in Pune was abruptly halted on Sunday when a police officer interrupted him mid-performance at Raja Bahadur Mills and instructed him to stop immediately. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. The officer directed the organisers to end the show as it was past the 10 pm deadline. Despite the confusion, Rahman and the other artistes followed the instructions and stopped the show. Rahman's fans were left perplexed by the sudden interruption. In 2005, the Supreme Court issued a ban on the usage of loudspeakers and music systems in public areas from 10 pm to 6 am, except in situations of public emergency, due to the detrimental impact of noise pollution on the well-being of the nearby inhabitants.
