Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu has demanded an apology from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for the recent attack on Tamil superstar Rajinikanth by leaders of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). The former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister criticized the statements made by some Andhra Pradesh ministers and YSRCP leaders, who targeted Rajinikanth for his speech during the birth centenary celebrations of TDP founder N. T. Rama Rao held in Vijayawada on April 28. He said that Rajinikanth only shared his views on a few issues and did not criticize the actions of the YSRCP government or say anything bad about anyone. Chandrababu has demanded Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to rein in his party leaders and apologize for what has happened. On the other hand, Rajinikanth's fans on Twitter are trending the hashtag #YSRCPApologizeRajini, as they harshly criticize the YSRCP government.
