China has expressed its strong opposition to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah's recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh, with a foreign ministry spokesperson stating that it violates Beijing's territorial sovereignty. The spokesperson, Wang Wenbin, made the comments during a news briefing on Monday. Furthermore, China has renamed 11 locations within the region, which is known as a state in India but is claimed as part of China's territory. "The Indian official's visit to Zangnan violates China's territorial sovereignty, and is not conducive to the peace and tranquility of the border situation," said Wenbin, referring to the Chinese name for Arunachal Pradesh. The disputed border between China and India has resulted in several clashes in recent years, particularly in mountainous regions, leading to a significant strain on the relationship between the two countries.
