Madhya Pradesh: A video of an elderly woman walking on the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh went viral on social media, with locals hailing her as the form of Maa Narmada, the goddess of the river. The video drew large crowds seeking her blessings, prompting the police to investigate the matter. However, the woman identified as Jyoti Raghuvanshi denied walking on water or being an incarnation of any goddess. She revealed to the police that she had left home 10 months ago and was a resident of Narmadapuram. Jyoti Raghuvanshi has shared that she intended to complete the Parikrama, a traditional Hindu practice of circumambulating a holy place, by walking around the Narmada River. The police contacted her family and arranged to take her back home.
