Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party women wing State general secretary Malpuri Kalyani was arrested by the Hanuman Junction police from her residence in Gannavaram, Krishna district. Kalyani was wanted in connection with two cases registered after clashes between TDP and YSRCP on February 20. It is learnt that Kalyani had been in hiding since then as she was unable to obtain anticipatory bail. The arrest was made after the police received information about Kalyani's whereabouts. However, the arrest was not without drama, as female police officers entered Kalyani's bedroom to take her into custody, and an argument broke out as Kalyani claimed she was in her nightdress and wanted to change.
