TDP MP Rammohan Naidu highlighted the unfulfilled promises made by the Centre during the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in a recent speech in the Lok Sabha. Despite more than a decade since the state's division, the Centre has yet to grant the state its special category status and complete major projects such as the Polavaram project. The MP pointed out that the TDP government had completed 70% of the Polavaram project works, but the YCP government has neglected the project for the last three years. The revised cost of the remaining works is estimated to be Rs 55,000 crore. Additionally, the Centre has failed to establish a railway zone in Visakhapatnam, and construct the necessary buildings for commercial operations. The MP also mentioned that central institutes have not been moved to their permanent campuses due to lack of funds from the Centre, despite the TDP government allocating lands for their construction.
