Tollywood senior director passes away

The Telugu film industry has suffered another loss with the passing of senior director, Vidya Sagar Reddy, also known as Sagar. He passed away at 05:20 AM today in a private hospital in Chennai at the age of 70.

Vidya Sagar Reddy, who was born in Guntur in 1952, had a long and illustrious career in the film industry, beginning as an editor and assistant director before directing his first film, Rakasi Loya, in 1983. He gained recognition for his work with Stuvartupuram Dongalu (1991), which won three Nandi Awards and went on to direct notable films such as Amma Donga, Anveshana, and Osi Na Maradala. His last film as a director was Khaidi Brothers in 2002.

Sources siad that director Vidya Sagar Reddy had been suffering from age-related health issues. His passing has been mourned by many in the film industry, and his last rites will be performed this evening in Chennai.
