Amrit Udyan: Rashtrapati Bhavan Gardens will open to visitors from tomorrow

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday launched the Udyan Utsav 2023, opening the doors of the Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens, the Mughal Gardens which was recently renamed Amrit Udyan, to the public. The Amrit Udyan will be open to visitors from January 31, 2023, to March 26, 2023, from 10 AM to 4 PM, as per a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

In addition to this, the Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens will be open to special groups of people from March 28 to 31. The statement mentions the designated days for different groups to visit the gardens, including farmers on March 28, differently abled persons on March 29, defence, paramilitary forces, and police personnel on March 30, and women, including tribal women's self-help groups, on March 31.

Officials said that 20 young professionals will work as guides and they will explain about the plants to the visitors. Officials said that the visitors can scan the QR codes installed across the garden to know about the plants and flowers.

President Draupadi Murmu renamed the six gardens of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, including the famous Mughal Gardens, to Amrit Udyan, in line with the national celebrations of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of India's independence.
