Chittoor: On Friday, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders and activists from across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana thronged to Kuppam to show their support for the padayatra (foot march) being led by the party's national general secretary, Nara Lokesh. The purpose of the Yuvagalam padayatra is to raise awareness among the public about the need to end the reign of current Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Thousands of TDP cadres gathered in Kuppam to show their support for Lokesh. Kuppam turned yellow, as TDP flags, balloons, and banners could be seen everywhere and all local hotels and lodges were filled with party officials. TDP leader Nara Lokesh offered special prayers to Lord Varadaraja Swamy.
Proper arrangements were made as Lokesh addressed a public meeting before embarking on his padayatra. Lokesh began his journey after visiting Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala and then arrived in Kuppam, where he was greeted by a sea of yellow. The #YuvaGalamPadayatra hashtag is now trending on Twitter and receiving a lot of reactions from netizens.
The 4000-km-long Yuvagalam Padayatra, which will begin in Kuppam, will be a significant event for the TDP.
