Chittoor: Nandamuri Balakrishna, an actor and politician known for his knowledge of Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, recently made a mistake while promoting the film Veera Simha Reddy. During the promotion, Balakrishna stated that Devala Maharshi is the guru of Deva Brahmins and that Ravana is considered to be a leader by them. This statement angered members of the Deva Brahmin community, who expressed their frustration and demanded that Balakrishna apologize for speaking without knowledge of history. In response, Balakrishna issued an apology and explanation in a press release, acknowledging his mistake and expressing regret for any offence caused. He stated, "I would like to thank all the Deva Brahmin elders who informed me that the information I had, that the leader of the Deva Brahmins is Ravana Brahma, is wrong." He also added, "I would like to tell you what is the benefit of hurting the hearts of my brothers and sisters."
