After Kuppam Police refused to grant TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu permission for a public meeting and a roadshow, the former chief minister sharply criticised the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration, alleging that the laws differ for the parties in power and those in opposition. Chandrababu has made the decision to embark from Pedduru to begin a padayatra. On the other hand, Mopidevi Venkataramana, a Rajya Sabha member of the YSRCP, has vehemently refuted Chandrababu's reported remarks about the current G.O. being issued by the YS Jagan administration. According to Mopidevi, the government has introduced several legal safeguards to ensure public safety. He has made it clear that the latest G.O. is not intended to target the opposition, but rather to express concern for people's safety. To demonstrate his endurance before his state padayatra, he dared TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh to lead a padayatra from Kuppam to Tirupati.
