High drama at Vande Bharat launch in Bengal, upset CM Mamata Banerjee refuses to sit on dias

High drama reigned this morning at Bengal's Howrah Station as a clearly furious Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister, refused to enter the platform where the Vande Bharat express to New Jalpaiguri was flagged off.
Mamata Banerjee appeared agitated by the boisterous yelling coming from some of the invited attendees at the train station.

The Chief Minister instead decided to take a seat in the audience, despite the Governor and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's best efforts to calm her down.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the first Vande Bharat Express in Bengal today, which connects Howrah and New Jalpaiguri, the entrance to the northeast, as well as several development projects.
