Chennai: In a horrifying incident, two women software professionals of HCL company were killed after a speeding car hit them while crossing the road. The incident took place in Navalur, Chennai's IT corridor. According to the reports, the deceased were identified as S Lavanya, a native of Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor and R Lakshmi, a native of Kerala's Palakkad and they both were 23. It is learnt that the accused identified as Motheesh Kumar (20) lost control of his Honda City car and hit the two women who were crossing the road after returning from the office at 11:30 pm on Wednesday. Sources said that Lakshmi died on the spot and Lavanya died while undergoing treatment at a hospital. The police took the accused into custody.
