Raja Singh, a BJP legislator from Hyderabad's Goshamahal assembly constituency, was detained by police on August 23 due to remarks he made about the Prophet Mohammed. The Dabeerpura police have also opened a case against the lawmaker based on a number of complaints. The BJP High Command seriously noted it. Om Pathak, the Central Disciplinary Committee's disciplinary member secretary, has sent him a show-cause notice stating that he has been suspended and that he must respond by September 2 to the notice. On Tuesday, a sizable police presence surrounded Raja Singh's home, told him of the case that had been filed against him, and then detained him. The remarks made by the Telangana BJP MLA were comparable to those of Nupur Sharma, a former BJP leader.
