On Thursday, the 2022 Commonwealth Games began. The Commonwealth Games 2022 will include 72 teams competing in 20 different sports. There will be 12 days in total. 164 Indian athletes, it is reported, will compete in the opening ceremony. The men's hockey team captain Manpreet Singh and badminton sensation PV Sindhu march in the athletes' parade as co-flagbearers of Team India for the Birmingham 2022 opening ceremony. At the CWG 2022, India will be represented by 215 competitors in total. The Birmingham CWG will include more than 5000 athletes. The CWG 2022 will feature 134 medal events for men and 136 medal events for women. Notably, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will mark the first of women's cricket. India was successful in winning 66 medals at the CWG 2018 at Gold Coast.
