The All India Chess Federation (AICF) and the Tamil Nadu government are preparing to host the 44th Chess Olympiad in Mahabalipuram, close to Chennai, in July-August. The 44th Chess Olympiad was originally slated to be held in Russia, but due to that country's invasion of Ukraine, it was switched to India. The 44th Chess Olympiad's anthem has been created by music composer AR Rahman.
