Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, has won a no-confidence vote among Conservative lawmakers. He will now continue to serve as Prime Minister. According to Graham Brady, chairman of the Conservative Party's parliamentary group, Johnson received the backing of 211 out of 359 lawmakers, dozens more than the 180-vote requirement. The vote on Johnson's leadership was triggered when the number of lawmakers who wrote letters of no confidence to Brady reached 54. Johnson will not face another no-confidence vote for a year as a result of Monday's victory, according to Conservative Party regulations.
