Significant incidences of intolerance have been recorded in the state of Maharashtra, where people are being imprisoned one after the other for their social media posts criticising political leaders of the current Aghadi government. The controversy over a 'disparaging remark' against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo and senior politician Sharad Pawar continues. A video showing Maharashtra BJP leader Vinayak Ambedkar being slapped has gone viral. Previously, a TV actor was detained for speaking out against the NCP leader Pawar. For speaking out against Sharad Pawar, the actor was harassed and attacked. Previously, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader was also arrested for a similar offence.
