Hyderabad: The Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra who resigned from office on Saturday stated that the linking of Aadhaar details with Voter card will be voluntary for votes but the people who are not willing to link Aadhaar card details will have to give proper reasons. He further stated that the rules to link the Aadhaar with electoral rolls will be announced by the government soon. He added that the linking of Aadhaar details with electoral rolls will keep a check to duplicate voters in the list. He further added that the linking of Aadhaar with voter cards will also help to reduce mistakes in the voters' list.
