The Telangana government, led by Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao, initiated the flagship project Mission Bhagiratha on a war footing with the goal of providing piped water service to 2.32 crore people in rural and urban regions across the state. It is a water-sector revolution since the project supplies people with safe, treated, and plentiful drinking water. It is a vast network of pipes of various diameters that spans over 2 lakh kilometres. The Krishna and Godavari rivers are linked with reservoirs in Telangana as part of the initiative to deliver water to each household. With Mission Bhagiratha, Telangana is the only state in the country to provide ample safe drinking water for the first time, and history is being made.
