Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar claims that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has opened the door to a new type of quid pro quo by providing money to the underprivileged under the guise of welfare initiatives. In a press conference, the former Congress MP claimed that all those who received money from Jagan's government will vote solely for the YSRCP. It has been argued that the state is paying the price for not exercising financial discipline. Undavalli Arun Kumar said that CM Jagan is a businessman who will not accomplish anything without a profit. He recalled the last General Election, when former CM Chandrababu Naidu allegedly sought to sway voters by allegedly giving Rs 10,000 ahead of the election in the name of Pasupu Kunkuma. However, he claims that it did not work.
