Eluru: In a shocking incident, a group of card players attacked the Sub-Inspector of police and other constables after the police conducted raids. The incident took place at Yadavalli Village in Lingapalem Mandal, Eluru. According to the reports, after getting the information from the locals that a few persons playing cards and cockfights in the village, Dharmajigudem police conducted raids at Yadavalli village. After seeing the police, the card players confronted and attacked the police with stones. It is learned that Sub-Inspector Uma Maheshwar Rao and other constables were injured in the incident and shifted to the nearby hospital. The incident is creating panic among the locals. Higher officials said that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
