Amid Global Backlash, Pakistani actress Saba Qamar Laments Treatment of Pakistanis Overseas
In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, global support continues to pour in for India, with countries across the world strongly condemning the incident. As a result, Pakistan has come under sharp international criticism. India is also implementing stringent measures against Pakistan in response to the attack.

Amid these developments, comments made by Pakistani actress Saba Qamar have sparked widespread discussion. Reflecting on past humiliations she experienced, Saba Qamar expressed emotional anguish over how Pakistani nationals are treated abroad. She lamented that wherever people from her country go in the world, they are subjected to disrespect and are viewed with suspicion.

She recalled an incident during a filming trip to Tbilisi, Georgia, where, according to her, all Indian passengers at the airport were allowed to proceed, but she was stopped when officials saw her passport. Saba Qamar stated that once it was known she was from Pakistan, she was subjected to multiple questions before finally being allowed entry. She described the experience as deeply humiliating.

“In our country, we chant ‘Long live Pakistan’, but it’s only when we go out into the world that we realise our true condition,” she said with emotion. “I hope such situations do not arise again,” she added.

Saba Qamar’s remarks have triggered reactions among Indian social media users. Many have commented that such treatment is to be expected when attacks are carried out in other countries.
