BSF Jawan Detained in Pakistan: Wife and Parents Plead for Government Action
The wife of Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Purna Sahoo has expressed deep concern and anxiety over the lack of information regarding her husband, who was reportedly captured by the Pakistan Army after mistakenly crossing the border. The family of Purna Sahoo is in anguish, with no updates on his condition even after five days of his detention.
Rajnī, his wife, voiced her distress, stating, “There is no information about when he will return.” She said that since the incident occurred, she has been undergoing severe emotional distress.
Currently pregnant, Rajnī spoke to the media on Sunday, stating that she is planning to travel on Monday to the Ferozepur Sector in Punjab, where her husband was stationed, in an attempt to gather more information about his whereabouts. She added that she had booked a flight ticket to Chandigarh and from there would proceed to Ferozepur, accompanied by her son and three relatives.
Rajnī mentioned that she had initially booked tickets for the Amritsar Mail train for Sunday evening, but as the tickets were not confirmed, she opted to travel by air instead. She further stated, “If the authorities in Ferozepur do not respond to my questions, I will go directly to Delhi and meet with central government officials.”
Meanwhile, in West Bengal, the parents of Purna Sahoo are also deeply distressed. They urged the central government to take all necessary steps to bring their son back safely. According to the report, the central government is currently engaged in discussions to secure the safe return of Purna Sahoo from Pakistan.
